The Wicker Man

So Ryan got me to watch The Wicker Man over the weekend. A horror movie set on a small fictional island in Scotland. A police sergeant, Neil Howie, is sent to investigate the disappearance of a young girl Rowan Morrison. Upon his arrival the town tells him she does not exist, even the mother of this missing girl claims ignorance in the whole matter. As the mystery is unraveled in Pagan Folk Lore, The Wicker Man takes some excellent twist and turns. I would have to say this ranks near the top for one of the best Horror Movies I've seen in my life.

It has also come to my attention that Edward Woodward, Sgt Howie in The Wicker Man, died over the weekend.

  1. I'm glad you guys liked this movie and Megan, you should see it as well. It's considered an "anti-horror" movie, but it's downright bizarre no matter what you want to call it. You should watch these clips of the remake for a laugh and know that it's NOTHING like the original:

  2. Sgt. Howie was also one of the Council Members for the fictional village of Sandford in Hot Fuzz. Simon Pegg always knows what is up.

  3. I'm trying to get a movie night (of sorts) started, I'll add this one to the top of the list, for sure.
