Nice. I'm still thinking about it. I mean, I'd love to say my vinyl collection, my record shelf, and my turntable but since I know that's not realistic...I honestly don't know. I guess I'd take the notebook I write in, my first edition of Rules of Attraction, maybe my copy of Lennon Remembers, my Chucks that were signed by the Violent Femmes...man. All of these things are like, a side note. Guess it's pretty telling about how much 'stuff' I have and how much it actually means to me. Records/music set up aside, I wouldn't really care about much else. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love all of my stuff, but if I had to choose what to save from a burning building, I'd probably just end up frantically grabbing the first 5 things I saw.
See, I guess that's the thing. Everything I have can be replaced, it'd just suck to have to do it. I have things I love, but nothing I can't live without. I guess I have a couple of drawings I really like...*shrug*
My 3 first editions
ReplyDeleteMy vintage Gibson bass
My van gough fake

ReplyDeleteWhich first editions do you have?
Two are Kurt Vonneguts;
ReplyDeleteBreakfast of Champions
Jailbird
The other is the US Printing of JRR Tolkiens the Smirillion
That Bass was purchased by my father in the late 70's and I consider to be a bit of an heirloom.
Everything else I have is replaceable.

ReplyDeleteWeird to think about these things.
