My Cardboard Life

This is one of my favorite comics right now. The two main characters are Paper Pauline and Cardboard Colin, with a few minor characters stopping by every once in a while. Hilarity ensues. I dig it, anyway. Thought today's comic was pretty fitting to how I feel about Valentine's Day. Enjoy!

  1. Welcome to every Valentines Day I've ever had, well other than the getting excited part.

  2. Yeah. Same here. Even when I was dating someone. The first (and only) year I tried to do something special for it, I made a lasagna and a heart-shaped tiramisu. My boyfriend got me candy cigarettes and told me a thousand times about how much he hated Valentine's Day.
At any rate, Cat Island is playing a house party if you just want to go hang out in a smelly basement and drink jungle juice and, I dunno, thrash? Nothing better to do.

  3. Hmm, maybe, I don't know about the Jungle Juice part, but that's why I own a flask. I was wondering what was going on this weekend.

  4. Also, sounds like your then boyfriend missed the point of Valentines day. I am not one for superficial Holidays, but I do like the idea of having one centered around romance. Of course, I am a hopeless romantic...

  5. See, that's the thing. I am not. I made the effort, did something romantical, and it's not like I was looking for a gift or flowers or anything like that. He felt obligated to get me something (candy cigarettes and fake flowers) and I made a nice dinner for us at home because I thought it would be nice.
Anyway, the Cat Island thing should be funny. It was last time, anyway. I'm assuming I'll go, unless I decide to just stay in bed all day and wallow. It's in a really gross basement and it's smoky and sweaty and I got something spilled on me within five minutes last time, but it was fun. BYOB, natch.
