ICP on Magnets

Apparently the Insane Clown Posse came out a few years ago as a Christian Rap Group. I had no idea this had ever happened. As the story goes, their Dark Carnival Mythology was really a ploy to bring all the juggalo fans to God. It doesn't quite come as a surprise that they are born again Christians, what with their history of homophobic lyrics. Well anyway, here is the culmination of all of this Insane Christian Clown Posse business.

  1. I want to be able to make fun of this, but I don't want to actually listen to it. DILEMMA!!!

  2. Yeah. I had to do it. For my life! Also, I felt like I had to post some of these genius lyrics because they were too good to miss:

Pure magic is the birth of my kids
I've seen shit that'll shock your eyelids
The sun and the moon, and even Mars
The Milky Way and fucking shooting stars

    Fucking rainbows after it rains
there's enough miracles here to blow your brains
I fed a fish to a pelican at Frisco bay
It tried to eat my cell phone, he ran away

    Music is all magic
(Are you a believer in miracles)
    You can't even hold it
(Do you notice and recognize miracles)
it's just there in the air
(Are you a believer in miracles)
    Pure motherfucking magic Right?
This shit'll blow your fucking mind
(Do you notice and recognize miracles)

    Water, fire, air and dirt
Fucking magnets, how do they work?
And I don't wanna talk to a scientist
Y'all motherfuckers lying, and getting me pissed
    Solar eclipse, and vicious weather
    Fifteen thousand Juggalos together

    Great stuff, that.

One thing I'm not sure about: does God believe in magic, or miracles? Are miracles, magic, and God the same force? One thing I am convinced of is that motherfucking scientists are lying and they are definitely getting me pissed.

I don't know if I hated ICP more when they were regular homophobes or when they became Christian homophobes. UGH. I can't believe these assholes are coming to my fucking town/general area.

  3. What amazes me about this is that it straddles the fine line between serious and parody. When you first see it you are not sure if they really are an Insane Christian Clown Rap Group or just an Insane Clown Rap Group. Performance art at its finest.

  4. I honestly don't remember a single song of theirs from before they did this song. Also, 'Insane Christian Clown Rap' is my favorite musical genre EVER! :)

  5. Anyone interested in learning more about ICP should check out "A Family Underground" a 2009 documentary about their annual music, no it's much more than music, festival. It is juggarific.
